John is talking to the undergrad seminar class this Thursday at 3:30 in PAB 106. His talk is called “Finding physics around the world.”
M.Sc. student Yang Liu spent a day in the machine shop last week, and made this (part of it, anyway)! She made a holder for a hydraulic piston that will allow her to change the pressure on the fluid she is studying.
John gave the Physics and Astronomy Department Colloquium yesterday. His talk was on “Restricted diffusion in soft matter and elsewhere”.
This week’s journal club meeting will be Friday at 1:30 in PAB 103. Grace will lead a discussion of “Oriented, polymer-stabilized carbon nanotube films: influence of dispersion rheology” by Allen et al., Nanotech 24, 015709 (2013).
